Hovering thoughts over oats made me go little further than porridge. These are one of most delicate dosas (pancakes) i have ever made. I combined it with spicy peanut chutney(dip).  But after having them, me and my husband craved for more. Oats have never tasted so good! I will definitely prepare again. Here goes the recipe for you all to try!

For dosas

11/2 cup oats (finely ground)

3/4 cup flour

1 cup rava (semolina)

11/2 cup sour yogurt (curd)

11/2 cup water approx.

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

oil to grease the pan.

For peanut chutney(dip)

1 cup roasted unsalted peanuts

4 garlic cloves

3-4 green chillies (according to taste)

1 tbsp tamarind pulp

1 tsp jaggery (or brown sugar)

salt water

Procedure

For oats rava dosa

Mix all the ingredients for oats dosa in bowl, big enough to mix easily. Form the batter with medium to thin consistency by adding little water at a time.(do not pour entire water , mix along with adding little water at a time). Take care that no lumps are formed. Mix thoroughly. keep aside for 20-25 minutes

Heat a non-stick flat pan(used for dosa). Grease with very little oil. Pour a cup of batter and spread it in circular motion to form thin layer. You need little patience here. The dosa(pancake) will be delicate. Allow the dosa to turn nice light brown in colour. It may take a minute or so. Have patience(You do not want your dosa to taste raw).

Turn over the dosa and cook for half minute. Fold the dosa at the centre and serve with peanut dip.

For peanut dip

Roast the green chillies in pan with few drops of oil.

Grind all the ingredients with chillies  for the dip to fine paste to form dip.
